Li Fenglei, a native of Quyang County, Hebei Province, began to teach himself sculpture at the age of 18, and was admitted to the county-run carving factory in 1978, from which time he was officially admitted to the carving industry. Li Fenglei has been fond of making all kinds of objects since he was a child, and started to learn clay sculpture at home since 1995, and started to learn portrait making, clay sculpture, face sculpture, relief carving and other crafts in Quyang.

In 1992, he joined the Quyang Folk Artists Association, and in 2000, he came to Hanbo Sculpture and has been working in Hanbo Sculpture since then.
